Amanda jumped, startled at the loud growling tone rammed through her brain. "I-I-I am! I'm going to find it! J-Just c-c-chill!"
"Well the cats are all hissing at me." I said, unconcerned, as if I ignored her fear.
As I looked down at the driveway, I saw all five cats standing around my feet, in various territorial positions. Showing their sharp feline teeth, their eyes glared at me as they let out a wretched hissing sound. But I could compete just fine. Getting my face right next to theirs, showing my sharp teeth in the process, I let out a growl louder than a lion, and deeper than a whale. It rattled the panes of glass in my house, and Amanda could hear them shake even up in my room. Terrified, all five cats vaulted away from my threatening face, as I grinned with a sense of accomplishment, blowing just a little bit of flame out my nostrils.
"Yeah. thought so." I said to myself.
"S-So, the drawer under

The day was cold, chilling even a Dragon to the skin, even through the scales. I spent all last night freezing in my bed, because mom thinks that having heating in a cold room is overrated. God saw fit to provide me yet another day of life, and as I awoke, laying snuggled warmly between the thin sheets of my bed, mother came into the room, saying it was thirty past the eighth hour of morn. I didn't care in the slightest, but she said to get up, and I started to do so. Yet as I watched her leave the room I closed my eyes, and there went my attempt to actually get off the bed...
The time came that dad stormed into the room, yelling at me, or rather huffing at me in a harsh manner, that I should get up now, since it was thirty past nine. That aroused me, sure, for I never did like it to hear father scream at me, though most of the time I just shrugged it off. So I tore off the sheets and darted into the ba
The Exiled DragonJura The Exile trudged solemnly through the thick and eerie forest canopy. A heavy murk blanketed the land, but the dragoness' eyes remained keen to the slightest hint of danger. For within these gloomy and expansive woods stirred creatures far worse and more horrifying then your typical wolf pack. This was the Alder, the edge of the world, and the very hunting grounds of the gods themselves. Despite the danger, fear did not manifest within Jura, nor courage, or honor; rather anger and bitter sorrow. She had crossed the known world and journeyed deep into this forgotten and forsaken wood in search of the sweet release of death.
She would rear up in defiance against any manner of beast that flew, burrowed, or stalked these lands, and would fight with such malice and savagery that the forest itself seemed to quiver within her presence. For a full fortnight, Jura had expelled her rage upon the monsters of the Alder. Even now her scales, once a magnificent shade of ivory, was grimy and mat
Day of the Nagas Chapter 1The air was heavy with panic and confusion as the people of Porton milled about in the streets; the majority trying to escape the chaos whilst the remaining margin trying to assist their entranced comrades in an attempt to resist the ‘invaders’. Nagas, lamias and a quarter of the sajadas (who had reverted to their true forms) slithered from the centre of Porton towards the edges of the town, as if forming a barricade that circled the entire seafront town. The rest of the nagas were herding the entranced Peace Keepers towards the harbour side warehouses, as if directing them for a purpose.
Seth half ran half jogged in the streets, his head whirled about in complete astonishment to what was unfurling before his blue-grey eyes. Mara and Sasha were having difficulty keeping up with him, they too taken completely aback with what was going on. Seth finally stopped to catch his breath, the sounds of panicking people filling his ears. The young girl and sajada stood b
Lamia's New Life Part 2“What’s going on in here?’ asked Kathrine, storming into her children’s bedroom, irritated that she had to go into their room once again to quite them down. ‘It’s after your bed time you two.”
“But mom! It’s nothing. We’re just fooling around,” said Matt, as he held his younger brother in a head lock.
“Mom, tell Matt to get off of me. I’m not having any fun,” whined Dane.
“Matt let go of your brother. He obviously doesn’t want to fool around,” Kathrine said.
“But…,” said Matt.
“No ‘But’s’ Matt. I said let him go. And I mean now,” Kathrine said sternly.
“AAWWWW,” said Matt, letting go of his younger brother.
“Now go to bed you two and that’s final. Unless, of course, you two want to be grounded for the next week,” said Kathrine, crossing her arms across her chest and
D.S.M's Theory List 1I've been thinking about this for a short while and I thought I'd share it and see your own opinions.
As you know, we tend to like a certain half human half animal type of creature (like me with nagas/lamias) and tend to make a certain character of that species into something likeable and relatable. But, as I thought more about it, I began to wonder if these creatures are also physical and metaphorical representations of the negative sides of human nature.
Well, after much mulling over, I think I've come up my first theory list about the various creatures that are representatives of the negative traits of human beings as reflected in their appearance, their common portrayal in literature, TV, movies, etc, and their nature. (Creatures like dragons, the kraken, trolls, giants and so on are NOT included in this list because they cover a LOT of ground and would be considered unfair on the others)

The Ghost's Silent Scream: ProlougeHow do you react when somebody you love dies? Sad? Angry? Distort? For me, I was surprised. When my mother woke me up that morning, at 4AM when it was still dark, I was half expecting her to tell me there was a burglar in the house or the house was of fire or even that aliens had invaded and now we had to praise our new alien over lords and build them pyramids as a sign of our faith. Any of those things would have been less surprising then what she told me.
“Jake, sweet heart,” she said quietly, as if it was a secret. “It’s grandma. She….passed away a hour ago.”
I was stunned. That’s the only way I could describe it. I was truly and utterly stunned. At first I thought it was some sort of sick joke grandma was making and the nurses that called my mother were in on it. Or that this was all the dream and I would receive a call from grandma tomorrow morning, since she always called on Sundays during breakfast. But no. What my mum was saying was tru
Night fury Tf (request)They say that every blood moon, something odd happens. That was what happened to Dan one day when he wasn't expecting it. He was always in his head dreaming of one day soaring the skies. Maybe as a bird he could. He flew in his thoughts of clouds as a human it was a colorful rainbow of clouds and bird like beings.
That is until the teacher woke him up. "Dan..."
Dan was still in his thoughts.
"Ah! What?!". Dan said so surprised.
"Class is over. What's wrong with you?"
"I was busy uh...studying the board. Yeah, I forgot to write everything down."
"Yeah? Well, hurry up. The next class is coming."
The class came in and bombarded Dan with questions. "Why are you still here?" Said a young lady with braids. She was very petite. Dan had a crush on her that he couldn't fight. She was a girlfriend to Matthew.
"Er... Okay, I was busy daydreaming." Dan said so modestly.
"Again?" The young lady said.
Two Souls One Heart Chapter 1 Meeting Das
The night was silent except for a few night birds and crickets. The moon was high in the night sky and full as its beams shimmered on the lake in the forested valley. Walking alongside that lake was a beautiful dragoness. She had light blue scales with purple stripes down her legs and back. She had darker blue horns with the tips of her wings being purple. She also had a spear at the end of her tail the same dark blue as her horns. Her name was Sassy. Walking along the lake at night was one of the things she loved to do enjoying the beauty of the moon and stars as they were reflected on the water. This night as she was walking along, she suddenly heard something. Turning her head she saw something moving on the other side of the lake. It appeared to be a young dragon about her size and age. Listening she thought she heard grunts of pain coming from this young male dragon. She hurried toward him to help. When
Love StoryLuna sighed as she padded about the large forest. Her head was lowered in defeat as blood trickled down her head, muzzle and back. Why? Why did her mate turn against her? How could someone she'd come to love, become so cruel and cold? Spying a stream, she sighed softly, her ears lowered as she slowly laid down as tears slid down her cheeks as she realized she was now alone. Curling up, she rested her head on her front paws as her tail curled to her side. She didn't realize she was being watched.
Talon meanwhile couldn't believe his eyes. Before him was a creature often told only in fables. A wolf! But she was injured and her scent was spiced with sorrow and tipping his head, he watched as she laid down then frowned further at the tears that slid down her face, mixing with the blood, which only caused her to become more beautiful in his eyes.
Sighing, Luna, shifted her body's weight, as sore as she was, she knew she'd need to find some form of shelter before night fell. Being so close t
Lakeside Love part 1
The late afternoon sun hung in air above the forest, casting its light over the dark green treetops, thus deepening the shadows that had been cast upon the ground. It was the type of forest that looked like it had jumped straight out of a fantasy story book. Somewhere up in the north was a vast lake that shone like glass in both sunlight and moonlight. The lake served like a massive watering hole for a number of creatures that live in the forest. Sometimes animals and humans use it as place to have a swim, especially around in the summer time. Normally such activity would happen at noon and mid day, yet in this late afternoon, a stranger emerged from the undergrowth.
The newcomer was a young man in his late teens. He had light brown hair and mid green eyes. He was carrying a bag that contained a towel and a pair of boxer shorts. The young man’s name was Nathaniel or Nathan for short. Nathan had decided earlier to have a swim in the lake since it was such a warm and glorious day t
Naga CharmingDeep within a largely unexplored jungle stood a set of ruins that managed to endure whatever the elements threw at it. Being a relic of an ancient and forgotten civilisation, this particular set of ruins have been used by a number of animals as aplace to call their own. Nowadays, apart from a few birds stopping by for a rest, no creature had ever claimed the ruins as a home. Until recently...
Underneath a sheltered area of the ruins, there was what appeared to be a large mound of coils that seem to belong to a powerfully bodied serpent. The scales were jet black with dark red underbelly and diamond pattern with small white dots adorning the space in-between each ‘diamond’. The coils belonged to a creature often rumoured to be legendary; a rare subspecies of naga. The naga lounged about on a pile of its own coils, soaking up as much of the last moments of the sun before night time comes and envelops everything with its dark starlit fingers.
Unbeknownst to it, someone was wal

My Friend Mark aka dollysistersmassacre Hi :iconSassyDragon18: Sassy here to talk my friend Mark aka :icondollysistersmassacre: .
I met :icondollysistersmassacre: Mark a little over a year ago when reading one of his old naga stories. I found the story very good and soon after reading the others I wanted to be friends with him and talk to him more about his naga stories. I soon find out that he was nice, funny person who loves snakes, nagas and other fantasy creatures.
Soon after getting to know him and seeing that few has noticed him (he was on DA for 5 years at the time) , I started helping him out with his stories, artwork, getting him into groups and coming up with new OCs. I try to help him whenever I can both on DA and off DA (On Skype) . I want to help him to be noticed and have friends here on DA, he said " I have more friends on this site than I do in real life." which makes me sad for h
